Walkoffs and Rainouts

Rain, rain, go away, come back again another day, specifically one that I did not ask for a vacation day hoping to be able to drive down to Buffalo to see the Bisons play. Alas, I cannot complain too much about rain disrupting baseball-watching plans as someone who has grown up in a town whose ballpark has a roof over it. Over the past week, Buffalo has seen two rainouts (and it looks likely that they’ll see another one tonight), Lansing had two of their own, but at least Dunedin and New Hampshire played a full week.

But, the good thing is that Around The Nest won’t be postponed due to rain. This week, probably somewhere indoors, Lansing Lugnuts broadcaster Jesse Goldberg-Strassler will be getting Blue Jays prospect updates from up and down the farm system.

As always, the podcast broadcasts live at 4 pm Eastern with the archived show available for listening afterwards.

Here’s today’s show from the host:

Don't blame us—blame the rain, denying action for Buffalo and Lansing over the course of the past week. But Rowdy Tellez is starting to get it going for the Bisons, Francisco Rios is posting goose eggs for the Fisher Cats, Danny Jansen and Max Pentecost refuse to cool off for the D-Jays, and Yeltsin Gudino has caught fire for the Lugnuts. It's all the latest from the last week's worth of action in the Jays' MiLB, including two walkoff winners for Dunedin, with the voices of the Toronto farm system!

If you have a question about a minor league player you’d like answered by the broadcasters that see them everyday (other than rain days), put them in the comments below or send them to our new Twitter account, @AroundNest.
