The Blue Jays have DFAed Mike Bolsinger. This is the second time, this season, he’s been DFAed. Back at the start of the season, he was designated, he cleared waivers and he went to Buffalo. He would have the right to become a free agent, but he has a pretty good chance of coming up again, if he accepts being outrighted to Buffalo again.
Bolsinger wasn’t terrible, but he gave up way too many walks, 19 in 25.2 innings. He had a 5.61 ERA in 5 starts. In 25.2 innings, he allowed 27 hits, 3 home runs and had 21 strikeouts.
The walks seem to have come out of no where. In his career he’s had a 9.5% walk rate, he’s up to 15.5% this year.
Leonel Campos gets the call up, likely just for today, since Francisco Liriano will be activated for tomorrow’s game.
He’s been up with the team earlier this season. In 4 appearances, he’s throw 5 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 earned, 1 homer, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
At Buffalo, he has a 2.16 ERA in 13 games, 16.2 innings. He’s allowed 8 hits, 2 homers, 6 walks and 18 strikeouts.
