Father's Day GameThread: White Sox @ Jays

Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

Call your dad.

I think, for Father's Day, I'm going to make my kids go play catch with me, it's been a little while.

I'd also like a win. And I'd like Jason Leglebijian to get called up. I'm tired of watch Goins.

We get J.A. Happ starting today. Happ's last start was his first good one since coming off the DL. He pitched 6 scoreless innings, with 8 strikeouts and no walks. I'd take that today.

James Shields makes his first start since mid-April, coming off the DL.

Steve Pearce plays today. Since he hit a home run in his first game back, it's tough to argue it, but I'd like to see as much of Dwight Smith as we can get.

There is a little bit of Jays news, or almost Jays news:

Grube had a 6.14 ERA in 11 starts for the Bisons.

As always, remember we have rules around there. Mostly it's "don't be terrible". If a moderator ask you to stop doing something, please stop. Remember losing makes Tom a wee bit grumpy. Also don't debate the rules in the thread. Send Tom a note instead (he doesn't get near enough email).
