Your daily Blue Jays injury: Joe Smith is on the DL with shoulder inflammation, Leone Campos is back up.
Joe’s last outing was pretty crappy, so this might explain that. He gave up 3 runs, in his inning of work last Wednesday.
On the season, he has a 3.41 ERA in 31.2 inning. Before that last outing his ERA was 2.64.
Joe was our 8th inning guy. I’d imagine Ryan Tepera will fall into that role.
Campos has been up 3 other times this year. He has a 2.25 ERA in 8 innings. He allowed 7 hits, 1 home run, 3 walks with 9 strikeouts. Not too bad. For the Bisons, he has a 2.14 ERA in 17 games, 21 innings.
Personally, I’d have called up Jason Leblebijian and dropped down to a 7-man pen. But that’s me. I’m tired of watching Ryan Goins at second.
Welcome back Leone. Get better quick Joe.
I’d take guesses for who goes on the DL tomorrow, but that’s too morbid.
