Campos To DL, Valdez up, plus Bautista to leadoff

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays at Seattle Mariners
Kevin gets a much needed day off.

No surprise, but Leonel Campos is going to the DL. We all saw him limp off the field in yesterday’s Blue Jays loss. The team is saying it is a groin strain. I wouldn’t have guessed that was the injury.

Cesar Valdez gets called back up. Valdez pitched a scoreless inning for us earlier in the season. He has a 3.69 ERA at Buffalo. In 34 innings he’s all 26 hits, 7 walks and 29 strikeouts.

In other news, Aaron Sanchez figures all is going to go well now. He threw 35 pitches in the bullpen yesterday, He’s off to throw BP in Dunedin Thursday and and then make a rehab start or two.

And we have some changes in the lineup today. Pillar, Martin and Tulo are sitting out. Bautista leads off, Smith bats second and plays CF. Goins at SS. Barney at second.

Pillar and Tulo can really use the rest.
