Game #76 GameThread: Orioles @ Blue Jays

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

So, it's been an interesting day.

Jason Grilli seemed like a great guy and we owe him for helping us make the playoffs last year. But, he really was struggling this year.

I'm curious to see Chris Smith. I hope he actually gets to pitch this time around.

And Ezequiel is back. I'd rather have kept Dwight Smith, but I get the feeling that all Ian Parmley will do is be a defensive replacement. I guess the team decided that it was unlikely Dwight would get to swing the bat, so he might as well be in Buffalo.

And Steve Pearce is back in the lineup today.

The Orioles are in town. Their starting pitching has been beaten up of late, and Kevin Gausman has been a prime example. He has a 6.47 ERA in 16 starts this season. And his ERA is over 7.00 his last 5 games.

Joe Biagini has had his own troubles in his past few starts. In his 9 starts, he has a 4.91 ERA, but his last few starts have been up and down.

It would be nice to use this series to get out of last place.
