Tonight’s Blue Jays roster had a bit of a surprise.
Listed, in the bullpen, is Jeff Beliveau....and not listed is J.P. Howell. Howell has been placed on the DL. I'm guessing it is Crappy Arm Disease.
Howell, as you know, has had a rough time of it this season. He has a 8.31 ERA and batters are hitting .324/.432/.568 against him, in 8.2 innings. Gibby has taken to using him only in blow outs.
Beliveau has a 3.09 ERA in 17 games, 1 start. In 32 innings he’s allowed 16 hits, 4 home runs, 14 walks and 43 strikeouts. He really couldn’t be worse than Howell.
And, good news, Russell Martin is in tonight’s lineup. On the bad new side, no Devon Travis. I'm guess he'll be day to day for a bit. :
