Here we are currently in the All-Star break without much news on the Jays front. But some news came out today with Ian Hunter of Blue Jay Hunter reporting that the Jays are considering moving Saturday games to 4:00 or 7:00 (eastern). Meanwhile, former Blue Jay Colby Rasmus has stepped away from the game for the foreseeable future and his career may be done.
The Jays and the Yankees are currently the only teams in the MLB that play at 1 in the afternoon on Saturdays. I for one am in favour of moving the games to 4 o’clock, as it is a hard turnaround time for players to play until 10-10:30 the Friday and be expected to be back at the ballpark 12 or less hours later.
Next, the sad news is the Rays announced Colby Rasmus has stepped away from the game of baseball. Rasmus was the starting centrefielder in Toronto for parts of four tumultuous seasons from 2011-14. He had well documented ups-and-downs on the field but for the most part was a fan favourite, making diving catches with his hair flowing back.

If indeed this is the end, I wish all the best for Rasmus going forward in his post-baseball career.
