Blue Jays Roster Move: Leone up, Harrell DFA

No surprise, the Blue Jays have called up Dominic Leone and DFAed Lucas Harrell.

Lucas walked in the winning run in yesterday’s game, not really endearing himself to the team. He pitched in 4 games, 6.1 innings for the Jays. He allowed 10 hits, 5 earned, 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. After pitching 2 days in a row, the Jays wanted to switch him out for a fresh arm. He was doing pretty well, in 4 starts, with the Bisons, putting up a 2.11 ERA in 21.1 innings. I’d imagine the odds are pretty slim that someone grabs him off waivers, but you never know.

Dominic Leone has been up and down a few times. He has a 2.95 ERA in 34 games, as a Jay. In 39.2 innings, he’s allowed 28 hits, 4 home runs, 18 walks and 42 strikeouts. He’s pitched 4 innings in Buffalo. He’s been surprisingly good. It will be nice to have him back.

Welcome back Dominic. Sorry it didn’t work out Lucas. Never know, you could be back.

I figured Joe Smith would be coming up at the same time.
