Greetings from Dunedin! I hope you are ready for another week of Around The Nest, the only minor league podcast where we go up and down the organization to speak with the radio broadcaster from each affiliate.
Today, I am spending the first half of the day watching the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays in a tight division race up at the Bobby Mattick complex then I will head back down to Florida Auto Exchange Stadium to catch the Dunedin Blue Jays game. Up here at the complex I had a chance to speak with GCL manager Luis Hurtado and that audio will be available on today’s episode.
Around The Nest is broadcast live at 4 pm every Friday of the minor league season and can be found as an archived podcast at this link.
And here’s the episode summary from host Jesse Goldberg-Strassler:
The Minor Leaguer travels to the Gulf Coast League, checking in with skipper Luis Hurtado about 2nd-rounder Hagen Danner, ace Maverik Buffo's stuff, teenage outfielder Dominic Abbadessa's progress, and sleeper prospect D.J. Neal. Meanwhile, Celery's final race looms, Nate Pearson dominates, Bo Bichette returns to action, Nick Sinay breaks a Midwest League record, and the 2017 regular season will soon be coming to a close for the Blue Jays' MiLB affiliates.
As always we welcome questions from you! Just post them in the comments below and we’ll try to cover as many as possible on the air.
