Even in September the Jays continue to make roster moves.
The Jays have called up Luis Santos, a RHP. Nick Tepesch gets the DFA treatment.
Santos, when he gets into a game, will be our 33 pitcher to see action this year. He’s 26. He spent most of this season with Buffalo, going 3-12 with a 4.32 ERA in 24 games 21 starts. In 108.2 innings, he’s allowed 91 hits, 13 home runs, 44 walks and 98 strikeouts. After yesterday’s 13 inning loss, the team wants more arms in the pen.
Santos last pitched last Monday, going 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, 0 walks, 1 earned, with 7 strikeouts.
He could give us some innings tonight, if Marcus has to come out of the game early. Course it is raining in Baltimore, so there is a chance the game won’t happen.
Nick Tepesch made 3 starts for us. He had a 5.14 ERA in 14 innings. He allowed 17 hits, 5 homers, 7 walks and 7 strikeouts.
Welcome Luis. Hope it all goes well for you.
The other news is Gibby will be away tonight, dealing with a personal matter. I hope all is ok.
DeMarlo Hale will be skipper tonight.
The only ‘call up’ in tonight’s lineup is Luke Maile.
