Vlad and Greene explode - in very different ways

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Arizona Diamondbacks Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Vladdy Jr exploded again in the Arizona Fall League yesterday as the Surprise Saguaros held off a late charge from the Salt River Rafters to win 11-9.

He went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a walk and two runs scored, as he reached base in each of his first four plate appearances.

In his first plate appearance, Guerrero hit a double that nearly left the park. On the ninth pitch of his first-inning at-bat against Salt River starter Luis Reyes, a Nationals farmhand, Guerrero belted a long fly ball to left field for another double. o-bagger.

Vladdy is now 6-for-9 with four doubles through his first two Fall League games....

Santiago Espinal went 0-for-5 at the plate.

Sadly Connor Greene exploded in a different way. Think of a supernova going off...

With two outs already, Greene came into the 8th and promptly gave up a RBI single, followed by a walk with a wild pitch leading to a run scored. Then another walk to load the bases. Then a third walk (runner comes in and bases still loaded) and then a fourth walk (with another run walked in) and the bases loaded. Then he mercifully got the third out with a popup.

This is his fugly final line: 0.1IP, 1H 2R 2ER 4BB 0Ks ERA 54.00.

We will never speak of this again...

In other Vlad related news and something that won’t surprise anyone with a pulse, he has been named Top Canadian minor league player.

Jordan Romano won Canadian Minor League pitcher of the year.

Talking of young players, Shi Davidi asks’ How do the Jays plan to get the most from their highly rated farm system?’.

Answer: Programs. Lots and lots of different programs.

In postseason news here is each MLB teams greatest postseason moment. No surprises for guessing which one is ours?!

PS. Im also surprised they could find anything positive to show about the postseason for the Rangers...

And while i admire the Dodgers, im afraid im supporting the underdog Brewers in the NLCS.

In case you haven't noticed, they last lost a game on Sept 22. Since then they have won 11 in a row including 8 regular season and 3 postseason games.

Here are the best moments from their win streak. My fave is the EPIC FAIL from the Pirates that allow Milwaukee to score 3 runs on a wild pitch...
