Just a quick roundup today as i’m busy looking after a sick son and wife. Im hoping i’ll be able to see the first game of the NLDS unless i come down sick too!
Lets start with Cavan Biggio who can take a walk...or four.
Cavan went 0-for-2, but walked four times and drove in a run as the Surprise Seguros sneaked past the Glendale Desert Dogs 10-9. Right-hander Zach Jackson recorded four strikeouts while allowing one hit in 1 1/3 innings of relief for Surprise.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr, in a massive shock, has been named Toronto’s Minor League Hitter of the Year by MLB Pipeline while right-hander Sean Reid-Foley took home top pitching honors. More on this here.
The NLDS starts today with the pesky underdog Brewers up against the powerhouse Dodgers.
Who has the edge? Lets take a look at the NLCS position by position.
As i mentioned yesterday, the Brewers are riding an 11 game win streak. They are now just four wins away from their first trip to the World Series since 1982.
But they’re only one win away from securing free hamburgers for all of Wisconsin.
(The last time they had a 12 game win streak was in 1987 and they ended up giving away 168,000 burgers).
And while we don’t yet know who will contest the World Series, here are some fun facts for each World Series matchup.
And in case you missed it, the pitcher who threw the most games over the last decade has retired. Yep Brad Ziegler has hung up his spikes after 739 games.
Have a great Friday everyone. Im rooting for the Brew Crew the next few days (sorry Kate!).
