Blue Jays 4 Tigers 5

So it won’t be a perfect spring.

Pitchers:

Chris Rowley got the start and he was hit hard and often. He went 1.1, gave up 4 hits, 3 earned (1 unearned), 1 walk. Not a good outing, but his first of the spring.

Others:

  • Justin Shafer got a double play, relieving Rowley in the second ieving Ro
  • Danny Barnes: 1 clean inning.
  • Carlos Ramirez: 2 hits including a home run, 1 earned.
  • Tayler Guerrieri: 1 clean inning.
  • Deck McGuire: 1 inning, 1 hit, 1 strikeout.
  • Chad Girodo: 1 inning, 1 hit, 2 strikeouts.
  • Jordan Romano: 1 inning, 2 walks.

Hitters:

Kendrys Morales had a single and a double in his 2 at bats before leaving the game. Tim Lopes hit a home run in his only at bat.

Others:

  • Ezequiel Carrera: 0 for 3, 1 k.
  • Ramon Fields: 1 for 2, 1 k and a caught stealing.
  • Steve Pearce: 0 for 2, with a sac fly.
  • Anthony Alford: 0 for 2.
  • Rowdy Tellez: 0 for 2, 1 k.
  • Dwight Smith: 0 for 1, 1 k.
  • Lourdes Gurriel: 1 for 3, 1 k.
  • Dalton Pompey: 0 for 2, walk.
  • Danny Jansen: 1 for 2, RBI.
  • Max Pentecost: 0 for 1, walk. He caught 4 innings.
  • Richard Urena: 0 for 2.
  • Jason Leblebijian: 1 for 2, walk, 1 K.

Urena made a throwing error, which allowed a ‘little league’ inside the park home run.

The Jays are now 1-1. That was my first chance to hear Scott Richmond doing analysis. I thought he did a good job. He did have some moments of having a hard time coming around to his point, but he’ll get better.

Tomorrow we have the Jays and Tigers again, but his time in Dunedin. And the game is on Sportsnet TV. Yay.
