Blue Jays 4 Rays 7

Ryan Borucki had a very nice first spring outing. 2 innings, one walk, 1 strikeout and 1 double play. A nice way for him to start his spring.

On the opposite end, Matt Dermody had a rough time. Gave up 4 hits, 5 earned, 1 walk while getting just 2 outs. He also gave up a double and a triple.

Craig Breslow also gave up a home run and a double, in his inning of work, with 2 strikeouts. William Ouellette gave up our other run, another home run, while just getting 1 out, a strikeout.

Other pitchers:

  • Luis Santos: 1 inning, 1 walk, 1 k.
  • Al Alburquerque: 1 inning, 1 hit, 1 k.
  • Tim Mayza: 1 inning, 1 single.
  • Jose Fernandez: 1 inning, 1 hit, 2 walks, but no runs.

Batters:

Nice to see our outfield prospects hitting the ball hard. Dwight Smith and Anthony Alford each homered, Dalton Pompey had a hard hit double.

  • Ezequiel Carrera: 0 for 2.
  • Pompey: 1 for 2, double.
  • Richard Urena: 0 for 3.
  • Ramon Fields: 1 for 1.
  • Alford: 1 for 3, home run, strikeout.
  • Teoscar Hernandez: 0 for 2, strikeout. Looking for his first spring hit.
  • Smith: 1 for 2, home run, strikeout and a throwing error.
  • Lourdes Gurriel: 2 for 3, caught stealing (running on a full count pitch).
  • Max Pentecost: 0 for 2, walk, k. He DHed.
  • Luke Maile: 0 for 2.
  • Danny Jansen: 0 for 2.
  • Jason Leblebijian: 0 for 3, k.
  • Tim Lopes: 1 for 2.

Jays are now 1-3 on the spring.

Tomorrow the Yankees are visiting Dunedin. It appears not to be on TV or MLB.tv which surprises me, I thought all the Yankee games were on YES.
