Josh Donaldson is less than pleased with Jon Heyman

Jon Heyman included this little tidbit in his Inside the MLB Notebook today:

Josh Donaldson is believed to be seeking a monster payday, according to friends, and while he may not hit his goal (some think he may be shooting too high), he benefits from Manny Machado’s move to shortstop since he’d become the top third base option if Machado stays at shortstop as a free agent.

At the time I thought that it didn’t really sound like Josh, but you never know how something he might say would be translated by one of his ‘friends’.

Josh was less than thrilled:

Now that does sound like Josh.

I can understand why he would be irritated. What Heyman said doesn’t really paint Josh in the best light and Josh is fairly protective of his public imagine. I’m curious to see if Heyman says anything back or just leaves it alone. If Heyman has a good source, I’d imagine he would back up his comment. If not, he really should apologize.
