Marcus Stroman has officially been informed he will not start opening day. John Gibbons had this to say on the decision:

It is still possible we will see Stroman in the opening Yankees series, but exercising caution at this point seems to be the right call. He will throw another side session this week, and if all goes well, pitch Sunday (either in a game, or live BP).

In other news, Randal Grichuk is dealing with “ribcage soreness” and is day-to-day.
The Blue Jays also optioned down Reese McGuire. I think it’s likely we will see him back up again before the end of spring training.
