GameThread Game #2: Yankees at Blue Jays

Here we go again

Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

While it's disappointing to realize the depth we picked up in the off season is being used as early as Game #2, it is reassuring knowing that the at bats are going to Yangervis Solarte and Aledmys Diaz instead of Ryan Goins and Darwin Barney.

As Tom mentioned here, John Gibbons said in a radio interview this morning that Josh Donaldson will DH until he can throw again. He also mentioned that that Solarte and Russell Martin will fill in at 3rd, consequently limiting Kendrys Morales' playing time.

Aaron Sanchez gets his first start of the season today. The Yankees haven't seen him since September of 2016. He was scheduled to pitch against them last Saturday, but they hid him away in a minor league game and sent Chris Rowley to start instead.

The Yankees lineup will look a little different tonight too, as outfielder Aaron Hicks (who was 2-for-4 last night) has been placed on the 10-day DL with a right intercostal muscle strain.
