Troy Tulowitzki will have on both his feet to remove bone spurs. No word on how long he will be out, but Greg Bird is having surgery to remove a bone spur from one foot and he’s to be out 6-8 weeks, so I’m guessing at least 8 weeks that long.
Troy came to us at the trade deadline of the 2015 season. In that times he’s played 238 games of 385 Blue Jays regular season games.
The Jays say that the spurs didn’t come up until spring training started, which could be true. Up until that point he was dealing with the ankle injury suffered turning his ankle on first base, back on July 28th last season.
I do feel bad for Troy. He’s been a terrific player. The injuries (especially that ankle) haven’t been his fault. But he can’t seem to get much luck. Hopefully, after he heals up from this surgery, he’ll have a long injury free stretch.
