This game joins the Yankees / Tigers and White Sox / Twins match ups as games that have been postponed today as miserable weather has a choke hold on the entire Great Lakes region. (They are playing a Cubs game in Chicago, but the scene there looks downright miserable with a constant mist and temperatures barely above freezing.)
Tomorrow’s forecast forecast in Cleveland looks just as awful with heavy rain for much of the day. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out, but there’s a good chance that game gets called too, and if so, we may see a double header in Cleveland in a few weeks (we’ll have to wait for official word on that).
Perhaps the only good piece of news for the Jays here is that they may miss Corey Kluber this weekend, who was scheduled to start today and is now scheduled to start tomorrow. However, if tomorrow’s game is rained out and Cleveland plays without another postponement for the next few weeks, his slot would be slated to come up on May 3rd anyway, so there will have to be some serious weather issues for the Jays to benefit from this.
Then again, maybe Josh Donaldson will be healthy by that point and he can help swing a game. Or perhaps, the Bringer or Rain already has already made his presence felt in another way.
