GameThread Game #21: Blue Jays at Yankees

Going for the split.

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The good news is the Blue Jays can still split the series with a win today. The bad news is Fangraphs has given us a 30.2% chance of accomplishing this today. However, we did win our 35.4% chance game on Friday night so the unpredictability of baseball may save us again today.

This will be a highly anticipated game for Yankees fans because the team has called up top prospect Gleyber Torres. I hope the fans don't boo him if he doesn't have a Lourdes Gurriel Jr-esque debut.

Speaking of which, here's a news clip of Lourdes' brother Yuli and his teammates watching his first major league at bat. Similarly, check out this video of Yangervis Solarte's girls celebrating his Friday night homer at Yankee Stadium. The sheer delight at his alligator clap is precious.

I thought this was interesting:

Here's our lineups for today. Travis and Smoak are back in, and Gurriel will be tested at shortstop with a ground ball pitcher on the mound. Grichuk sits again. The two walks from him yesterday were nice.

Today's Lineups
