The Blue Jays have announced that John Axford is going onto the Bereavement list. The team isn’t saying why he’s on the list and I really don’t want to guess. He will miss a minimum of 3 games and a maximum of 7 games while on the list.
Tim Mayza comes back to Toronto. To take his place. Tim just went down to Buffalo on Friday, after getting 10 days with the team. He only got in 1 inning with the team, giving up a hit, walk and getting a strikeout. He’s only pitched in 1 game in Buffalo as well.
Like I said, I don’t want to guess the reason for John’s bereavement, but I do wish him the best and hope all is well with his family. You might remember his son was bit by a rattlesnake a couple of years ago, but recovered. I hope all is well with his family.
