People love to cheer for the underdog. The guy who is out there purely by his determination as opposed to his natural gifts making him better than everyone else. Someone who goes out there every day, gives it his best shot, to maybe be in the top 750 people to be playing the game at that point in time.
Or perhaps they’re out there having fun every single day, regardless of how things are going. They’ll work hard, but in the end it’s a game and they know it, ensuring that the game is fun.
Today’s FanPost Friday is to tell us about your favourite player or players who were not quite so gifted talent wise, but made the game enjoyable. It can be a current Blue Jay, a past Blue Jay, a former Expo (even still active - I will read every post about Bartolo Colon) or even some person who has no affiliation with baseball in Canada. Bonus points if it’s someone who doesn’t even play professional baseball in North America.
So go here, and let us know of favourites. Take as much time as you would like.
Last week’s topic, which was decided upon while getting drummed by Cleveland, was to reminisce about your favourite Blue Jays’ comeback win. Three of you played along: Link Floyd reminded us about a game against the Mariners in May of 1992; Siefert brought us back to the amazing Game 4 of the 1993 World Series; and e&n4e, forever an Expos fan, reminded us that not all comebacks actually come back all the way.
