This is very far from factual reporting. And with that out of the way, let the conspiring begin.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been the subject of lots of speculation lately. On Monday afternoon, Guerrero posted an image on Instagram geotagged at JFK airport in New York City. With the Toronto Blue Jays there on their off-day to play the New York Mets, the posting led to many (including myself) thinking that Guerrero was called up.
And then the story fell apart; the photos posted were from December, and Guerrero was just reposting them. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Toronto’s double-A team, was in Hartford to play the Goats, and so was Guerrero.
But yesterday, Guerrero posted another interesting thing on his Instagram — this time, a video on his story.
This is in Vlad’s insta story. Alford’s a Bison, isn’t he? pic.twitter.com/zeloAGOWZU

Editor’s note: This appears to be Jonathan Davis and John Schneider, from the Fisher Cats.
Anthony Alford is with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons, a level above the Fisher Cats. And unless it’s another masterful troll job by Guerrero, he could be getting called up today. The Bisons have an off-day today, and are playing back in Buffalo on Friday, while the Fisher Cats are in Manchester today.
There’s another hint that Buffalo may soon be graced with Guerrero. The team’s social media accounts have been hyping up a certain something to be announced today. Here’s the posts:

ICYMI: Big announcement on Thursday! pic.twitter.com/jF1zPJ34k1

The only one of those posts that could seems to indicate something other than a call-up is coming would be the first included in this post: “#BuffaloBorn.” Guerrero was born in Montreal, and as far as I can tell, doesn’t have much of a connection to the city of Buffalo.
If the pair of Bo Bichette and Guerrero is being moved up, the reference still doesn’t make sense — Bichette was born and raised in Florida.
Still, all put together, it seems fairly reasonable to believe that Guerrero could be moving up today. We’ll wait on the full announcement (and will update this post accordingly with whatever that announcement may be), but for now, we can hope.
