Arash Madani tells us the reason why Blue Jays DH Steve Pearce was scratched tonight. His rib cage ‘tightened up’ during batting practice.
I have no idea that that means, my rib cage has always been at the same tightness level, at least as far as I know. And I don’t know if that means he’ll be out again tomorrow, but at least we have a reason for it now.
Why wouldn’t Gibby say something before the game? Likely to keep the Twins from knowing he wouldn’t be able to come into the game. But, it didn’t stop them from bringing in a lefty to face Curtis Granderson.
Get better quick Steve.
Per Gibbons: Steve Pearce's rib cage tightened up during batting practice, which is why he was a late scratch and Morales played.
