Blue Jays Roster Moves: Devon Travis Up

MLB: New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays Kevin Sousa-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Blue Jays announced today that Devon Travis has been recalled from Buffalo and will be active for tonight’s game. Travis was optioned to Buffalo on April 29th, batting just .148/.212/.246 in 66 plate appearances at the time. His production in Buffalo was only marginally better, batting .210/.234/.274 over 64 plate appearances. However, Travis does leave AAA on an 8 game hit streak.

Travis was quick to praise the Buffalo Bisons’ hitting coach Corey Hart, stating in a recent interview: “As a hitting coach in professional baseball, a huge key is understanding your players and keeping things as simple as possible. I think Corey does a fantastic job of that. I think he’s going to be a big league hitting couch for a long time and I’m thankful for my time down here with him.”

Travis will rejoin the Jays in Toronto, for the first game of a three game series at home versus the Los Angeles Angels.
