Wednesday’s Blue Jays Lineup

And bits of Jays stuff.

MLB: Los Angeles Angels at Toronto Blue Jays Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

There isn’t much for Blue Jays news so far today.

There is news about an old friend. Dustin McGowan was released by the Marlins. He had a pretty good 2016 with them, 2.82 ERA in 55 games. He had 33 walks and 63 strikeouts in 67 innings. Last year he wasn’t as good, 4.75 ERA in 63 games. This year he hadn’t throw a pitch yet, in the majors or minors.

Today Solarte DHes, Morales gets a day off after hitting a homer yesterday. Granderson plays against a LHP. I don’t understand why they sent out both RH hitting outfielders and called up Smith. You have Granderson who really needs to be platooned and you get rid of anyone who can be the other half of the platoon.

Teoscar Hernandez is in a slump. Gibby said:

And Pillar is in his longest hitless streak of the season, 4 games. He’s hitting almost exactly what he was hitting a year ago .287/.325/.475 now, .281/.332/.458 after 48 games last year. I hope he doesn’t fall off like he did last year.
