GameThread Game #50: Angels at Blue Jays

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

I wanted to be writing that the Blue Jays were going for the sweep, but instead I'm writing about a rubber match. At least it's better than the story as of late, which is that the Jays are trying to avoid a sweep.

I missed the 9th inning last night, but it sounds like it was a wild one. For those wondering how the defensive alignment would have gone had the Jays managed to tie it, now you have your answer.

It sounds like Jaime Garcia will start on Saturday in Philly if all goes well with his side session today.

Here are today's lineups (or this morning's lineups if you are on the West Coast like me). Dwight Smith Jr will bat lead off, and Smoak gets a rest day. With Granderson on the bench this lineup looks fairly light, which means they'll probably surprise us all by scoring a dozen runs.

Today's Lineups

LOS ANGELES ANGELS TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Ian Kinsler - 2B Dwight Smith - LF
Mike Trout - CF Josh Donaldson - DH
Justin Upton - LF Yangervis Solarte - 3B
Albert Pujols - 1B Teoscar Hernandez - RF

Andrelton Simmons - SS Kendrys Morales - 1B
Luis Valbuena - 3B Luke Maile - C
Martin Maldonado - C Gio Urshela - SS

GO JAYS GO!
