Around The Nest - Blue Jays Minor League Podcast - Week 7

Wait—what happened?

There is an old adage that one can have seen a thousand baseball games and yet there’s a chance that something completely new and weird would happen—like a go-ahead run of an elimination game could be scored on a ball thrown from a catcher to a pitcher that ricochets off of a bat. Today on Around The Nest, the Blue Jays minor league podcast, we will talk about some of the weirder things that have happened so far this season down on the farm.

And of course we will have our weekly Vladimir Guerrero Jr. content.

Around The Nest broadcasts live every Friday of the minor league season at 4 pm Eastern and the archived audio of each episode can be found here after the show ends. You can also follow along on Twitter by following @AroundNest.

Here is the plan Jesse has for the show:

Baseball keeps you on your toes. You know this. We know this. Maverik Buffo is the name of a real person, and he’s striking out nine batters in six innings for Lansing—which also played a nine-inning game this week in 116 minutes. Meanwhile, Darnell Sweeney and Ian Parmley are outfielders for Buffalo—except when they pitch consecutive scoreless innings against Syracuse. That also happened this week. So did the Dunedin Blue Jays’ Fishing Night, which was finished by Jake Fishman—naturally. Of course, sometimes non-weird things happen, too, like Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. hitting back-to-back homers for New Hampshire. From the absurd to the sublime, it’s all fair game on Around the Nest!

Do you have a burning question about a Blue Jays prospect? Ask them down in the comments and we’ll try to get as many of them answered on the show as we can!
