“Congratulations and don’t come back” was the message sent to Blue Jays pitching prospect Conor Fisk down in New Hampshire when he received word that he was promoted to Buffalo. Fisk had spent just a month in double-A, a super brief stay, especially compared to the parts of three seasons he spent in Dunedin. In that month, Fisk was used exclusively as a reliever and he put up numbers: 15 innings pitched, 16 strikeouts to five walks, giving up just eight hits. In his triple-A debut last night, the 26-year-old threw 3.1 scoreless innings for the Bisons. If he continues doing what he’s doing he definitely won’t be back in New Hampshire.
Around The Nest is a weekly podcast about the prospects in the Blue Jays minor league system with reports from each affiliate’s radio broadcaster—the people who see them play on a daily basis. We broadcast live every Friday afternoon at 4 pm Eastern, and the archived audio can be downloaded afterwards. At Around The Nest we try to highlight the achievements of some of the less-heralded minor leaguers—like Fisk—in addition to the ones on the top of the prospect lists.
Of course, while we still have Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the minors, it’s hard not to talk about his achievements. And this week’s title comes from a fan’s reaction after Vladdy’s hugenormous home run last night:
VLADIMIR GUERRERO JR. THIS HOME RUN. WOW.

As always, we appreciate your tuning in and would like to take your questions in the comments below. Here’s host Jesse Goldberg-Strassler’s episode description:
Kevin Smith, Midwest League Player of the Week. Yennsy Diaz, Midwest League Player of the Month. A Binghamton Rumble Pony—not Tim Tebow—was named Eastern League Player of the Month, but we all know the truth. This week on Around the Nest, we talk Buffalo’s PDC extension, a shutout aided by two Triple-A rookies, Cavan Biggio’s pop, Josh Donaldson’s rehab, Kirby Snead’s ascendance, Kacy Clemens going yard in front of his dad, and maybe a little Vladdy Jr. too. Join the voices of the Blue Jays’ system, Jay-talking about the latest action!
