Another day, another bunch of Blue Jays roster moves.

As reported earlier, Dalton Pompey is up. Also up are SS Richard Urena and RHP Jake Petricka.

Going the other way Luis Santos has be DFAed and Dwight Smith Jr, Carlos Ramirez and Joe Biagini have been optioned.

Urena, who we saw last year, had been rehabbing in Dunedin, until Wednesday when he came up to Buffalo. In 8 games, between the two teams he’s hitting .161/.182/.161 with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Last year he played 21 games with the Jays, hitting .206/.270/.309. I’m guessing he won’t be here too long, but we need another infielder, especially tonight, since Solarte is DHing. I’d imagine he’ll be going down when Smoak comes back.

Petricka who we signed as a free agent back in February, played parts of 5 season for the White Sox. In total he has a 3.84 ERA in 181 relief appearances, with 75 walks and 131 strikeouts in 178 innings. He’s been in 5 games with the Bisons so far this year, with a 1.13 ERA. in 8 innings he’s allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Santos and Biagini both had a rough time yesterday. Santos will be in DFA limbo for the next few days. Biagini was going to be optioned no matter what happened yesterday. Smith, on the other hand, had a good day, 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. If he wasn’t a left-handed batter he would still be with the team.
