GameThread Game #35 - Blue Jays at Rays

One more game and then we can blow this popsicle stand. I'm sure the team will really appreciate the day off on Monday. Hopefully they can arrive back home having avoided a sweep.

An update on the Grandy man:

Curtis Granderson ran some sprints in the outfield, a sign of progress as he recovers from hamstring tightness. Available if needed today. Tuesday return seems doable #BlueJays

Justin Smoak returns today. I don't know that I've ever appreciated his defense as much as I have over these past 4 games. Oy.

Richard Ureña was sent back down having never gotten a chance to play. I'm sure we will see him again.

Here are the lineups for this afternoon. Alford gets the start in left field, Hernandez remains in the lead off spot, and Solarte hits between Donaldson and Smoak.
