Former Blue Jays: Where are they now?

NL Version

MLB: Atlanta Braves at New York Mets Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

We looked at former Blue Jays on AL team the other day, let’s look at former Jays on NL teams. Let me know who I missed.

Braves

Jose Bautista: ..300/.417/.400 in 3 games.

The Braves also have this guy, Alex Anthopoulos. I can remember, I think he was our bullpen catcher or something like that.

Phillies

Drew Hutchison: 2.76 ERA in 9 relief appearances. 16.1, 13 hits, 2 homers, 8 walks and 16 strikeouts.

8 walks in 16 innings? I can’t imagine his ERA will stay that low if he continues to pitch like that.

Mets

Jose Reyes: .139/.184/.222 in 21 games.

He’s played SS, 3B and 2B. I can’t imagine the Mets will keep him around that much longer if he doesn’t start hitting. Last year he had a -0.6 bWAR, this year he’s already -0.3.

Travis d’Arnaud: .200/.250/.400 in 4 games.

He’s had Tommy John surgery. He won’t be back this year.

Noah Syndergaard: 2-1, 3.10 in 7 starts. 40.2 innings, 40 hits, 6 walks and 49 strikeouts.

Yep.

Nationals

Miguel Montero: 4 games, .000/.154/.000

And he’s been released.

Cardinals

Brett Cecil: Pitched in one game and went on the DL with a strained shoulder. He should be back the end of the month or early June.

Brewers

Eric Thames: .250/.351/.625, with 7 home runs, in 22 games.

He’s on the DL with a torn ‘UCL’ in his thumb. Back late June/early July.

Jeremy Jeffress: 0.48 ERA in 18 games, 18.2 innings, 9 hits, 5 walks and 14 strikeoust

One of those guys who I wish we could have been more patient with.

Cubs

Brandon Morrow: 1.64 in 12 games. In 11 innings, 8 hits, 4 walks and 10 strikeouts.

One of my favorites.

Reds

Cliff Pennington: .138/.265/.138 and he pitched an inning, giving up a hit, a run, 2 walks and a strikeout.

Cliff spent a few weeks as a utility infielder for us in 2015.

Anthony DeSclafani has been on the DL all season, oblique strain, on the 60-day dl. He was part of the trade with the Marlins

Diamondbacks

Jeff Mathis: .216/.326/.243 in 14 games.

Another part of the trade with the Marlins. I’m surprised he’s still in the majors.

Rockies

Jeff Hoffman is in Triple A Alburquerque. Has a 4.42 ERA in 4 starts. 18.1 innings, 9 hits, 3 home runs, 9 walks and 24 strikeouts. He went to the Rockies in the Tulo trade.

Jesus Tinoco. also part of that trade, is pitching in Double A, 4.68 ERA in 6 starts, 11 walks, 34 strikeouts in 32.2 innings.

Giants

Sam Dyson: 3.00 ERA in 16 games, 15 innings, 12 hits, 2 homers, 4 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Sam was in our minor league system, and was lost on waivers to the Marlins in January of 2013, since then he’s pitched for the Rangers (you may remember a homer run he gave up to Jose Bautista, maybe). He was traded to the Giants last year.
