Aaron Sanchez left tonight's game after the first Inning with a "finger contusion", a fancy way of saying a bruise. The team says x-rays were negative, no broken bones.
When he left the game I think we all figured a blister would be the issue. I glad to hear it isn't.
No word if he will end up missing a start.
UPDATE:
Sanchez says he jammed his index finger (not the blister finger) and by the time he arrived at the stadium it had already started to swell. They put ice on it at the park, but it didn't do much. Said on the mound it hurt to grip the baseball.
