This one kind of surprises me.

We knew Ryan Borucki was going to be called up today, to make tonight’s start. But I’m a bit surprised that Tim Mayza is the one going out. Mayza goes back to Buffalo once again.

Borucki has a 0-1 record and a 3.52 ERA in 4 starts for the Jays. In 23 innings, he’s allowed 27 hits, 10 walks with 21 strikeouts.

In Buffalo he had a 3.27 ERA in 13 starts.

As a Blue Jay, Mayza has a 4.67 ERA in 16 games. In 17.1 innings, he allowed 21 hits, 3 home runs, 7 walk and 18 strikeouts. Down in Buffalo he had a 4.11 ERA in 13 games. In 15.1 innings he allowed 13 hits, 1 home run, 6 walks and 22 strikeouts.

I kind of figured that Luis Santos might be going down. Santos has a 7.20 ERA in 10 innings with the Jays.
