Blue Jays trade rumors: Jays shopping Roberto Osuna

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays at Minnesota Twins Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Bob Nightengale, for USA Today, writes that the Blue Jays are shopping Roberto Osuna:

The most intriguing name could be Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna, who is eligible to return Aug. 4 from a 75-game suspension for domestic violence. The Jays are shopping him, would the Astros or anyone else touch him?

He would be an interesting target for any team looking for a reliever, and one that might go cheap.

Roberto has a court appearance coming up. His lawyer will be working to get some sort of deal done. If not, I’d imagine they would like to push things off until the off-season, if they can.

Roberto is available and if he can put his legal (and personal) troubles behind him, he’d be an attractive trade target. He’s just 23, he already has 104 saves and he has a 2.87 career ERA. And he still has a few years of control left, he isn’t a free agent until 2021.

We should have an interesting week ahead of us.
