I’m sure it’s been a long, tough day for the team, but Troy Tulowitzki had something to say to everyone going forward:
More Tulo on team meeting: "I played a part. There was no rah-rah speech and going out there and getting on a run it’s about going about your business and playing the game the right way realize what’s going on around here and not letting it get out of control." #BlueJays

Sounds like a solid team dad talk.
Some other tidbits to come out of this afternoon:
Granderson & Clippard drew interest ahead of the deadline per Atkins. "There are teams that would like to have them. Ultimately the price wasn't right. There could be more opportunities in August for those guys" #BlueJays

Gibby: I’m a little surprised Granderson’s still here because I’d been hearing his name everywhere. But you can still make trades in August. Other than Grandy, no, I’m not surprised to see anyone else still here. #Bluejays

Atkins on JD: "There was a lot of discussions. The challenge is with any player that is not playing, is understanding that risk and that timeline with not the same access to information that we have. That tolerance for that risk was the hard part to try and bridge." #BlueJays

Atkins when asked about calling up Danny Jansen: "We'll see. It really just depends on playing time and opportunity. Obviously Russ has been very important for this organization and Luke has earned an opportunity as well..." #BlueJays

Here are tonight’s lineups. Brandon Cumpton and Darnell Sweeney have been added to the roster to take John Axford and Aaron Loup’s spots. Gurriel has not yet been placed on the DL, so that move will open a spot for Ken Giles who is expected to join the team in Seattle on Thursday.
Diaz moves up to the sixth spot, Teoscar sits most likely as a result from his horrendous night last night, and Grichuk will bat second.
