After using seven relievers last night, we all knew some bullpen shuffling was coming to get some fresh arms up.

  • The Preston Guilmet era may be coming to a close, as he was DFA’d to clear a spot on the 40 man roster. He has pitched in eight games since coming to Toronto, carrying a 11.70 ERA. He has allowed 18 hits in 10 innings pitched, with 13 earned runs (6 homers)
  • Tim Mayza has been optioned down again, his 6th time this year. The franchise record is 7 (held by Ryan Tepera and Leonel Campos)
  • Luis Santos’ contract has been selected. Since he was DFA’d on May 6th, he has a 2.52 ERA over 39.1 innings in Buffalo, allowing 35 hits and 11 earned runs (only 1 homer). As an occasional starter, he can go multiple innings if necessary
  • Rhiner Cruz’s contract has been selected. He was activated almost a month ago from the DL, and since has pitched in six games (8 innings) for AAA Buffalo. He has allowed six hits and one earned run, good for a 1.04 ERA

Welcome back, Luis and welcome to Toronto, Rhiner!
