When the Blue Jays host the Phillies on August 24th-26th, they will all be wearing Little League inspired bright colored uniforms for Players’ Weekend. This special event gives Blue Jays players the opportunity to wear jerseys with their nicknames, and MLB the opportunity to sell more merchandise.
There is a new Blue Jays hat, which is identical to last year’s, but with a royal blue maple leaf instead of red:

They have new t-shirts and jerseys as well. The only Blue Jays nickname mockup listed on the site is for a player who hasn’t played in over two months.

I like the jersey and the shirt enough, although I’m not sure I’d shell out the $100+ for one.
There are some excellent nicknames out there though. Behold:

Ryan Borucki and Sam Gaviglio presently don’t have nicknames listed, but Ryan’s brother has assured us there is one coming:
A lot of thought went into the Players Weekend nickname and I can assure you that there is one and it’s spectacular. https://t.co/gKPixXdZoO

There are explanations for some of the nicknames the players chose here. Or, you can watch Joe Biagini explain his himself:

The nickname contest was over before it began as it was single handedly won by Brad Boxberger of the Diamondbacks:

but we need subsequent winners, so it’s time for the Annual Bluebird Banter Best Nickname Contest:

I bought the Players’ Weekend nickname tee last year and it was one of my favorites, even if there are only two players on it who are presently playing for the team.
