GameThread Game #115: Rays at Blue Jays

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays at Toronto Blue Jays Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

The Rays are in town for the first time this season. Yes, halfway through August. The Jays will be playing the Rays for 13 games down the stretch, with only one series remaining at the Trop.

All the press tidbits today were about Gibbon’s job status. He repeated what he said on the radio earlier - that it’s been a good ride and he doesn’t want to necessarily stick around for a rebuild. It will be sad to see him go whenever that does happen.

Here are the lineups for today. Richard Ureña gets a start, at 3rd base of course. As Minor Leaguer pointed out, this is a position that he has only played three times, all with the Vancouver Canadians. Diaz is back up to 6th, Pillar stays in the 9 hole, and Maile will catch for Marco Estrada.

Today's Lineups
