Blue Jays Roster Moves: Jansen Up, Reid-Foley Up Tomorrow

We have some roster moves this morning.

Yangervis Solarte is going on the DL with an oblique strain. We saw his awkward swing last night and saw him come out of the game. It seemed that an oblique strain was the most likely injury. I had this faint hope that Vlad Jr. would be coming up, but no.

Danny Jansen has made the trip from Buffalo to Toronto. It really is about time we brought Jansen up. He’s hitting .275/.390/.473 in 88 games at Buffalo. It looks like Martin will be playing third base and Jansen catching, at least for the next little while. I’m not sure what will happen when Lourdes Gurriel is ready to come off the DL.

As well, everyone is reporting that Sean Reid-Foley is making the trip with Jansen, and will make the start tomorrow. Sean is 12-4 with a 2.98 ERA in 23 starts, split between New Hampshire and Buffalo. After a crappy 2017, he’s having a excellent bounce back year. I’ve been hoping to see him for awhile now and I’ll get my chance tomorrow.

Welcome Danny and Sean. I hope I get to watch you for years to come.
