Around The Nest - Blue Jays Minor League Podcast - Week 19

Beisebol, Nosso Passatempo Nacional

Jesse Goldberg-Strassler

After winning International League Player of the Week honours, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has slowed down a bit, hitting a fairly pedestrian .240/.296/.480 with two homers and five strikeouts this past week. Is that worrisome? Oh wait, he’s a friggin 19-year-old in triple-A! I think he’ll be fine.

We will be checking up on 7Vladdy Jr. as well as the heroics of Cavan Biggio down in New Hampshire, Eric Pardinho’s best start of his pro career and Jordan Groshan’s highly anticipated first game with Bluefield, the Lansing Lugnuts’ transformation to the Lansing Mighty Wombats, Aaron Sanchez’s rehab start in Dunedin, and more on this week’s Around The Nest Blue Jays minor league podcast hosted by the one-and-only Jesse Goldberg-Strassler.

Around The Nest is a live podcast and can be streamed here at 5 pm ET for this week only (usually it's on at 4 pm). An archived copy is also available for download at the same link at the conclusion of the show.

Here is this week’s description from Jesse:

Eric Pardinho brings perfection into the seventh inning, Vancouver witnesses trauma in Oregon, a Lugnuts win is re-created in Lansing, Joshua Palacios circles the bases in Dunedin, Hector Perez dazzles in New Hampshire, and Danny Jansen and Sean Reid-Foley ascend from Buffalo to the Bigs. Let’s Jay-talk about the latest week of Toronto affiliate action!

As always, Bluebird Banter members are encouraged to ask questions for the broadcasters in the comments below. Do note that certain questions, especially ones dealing with minor league players’ injuries, are difficult to answer as many such information is considered to be confidential by the club.
