The Blue Jays have rolled into Seattle to play at the Rogers Center West.
Let’s start with some good news:
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is your American League Rookie of the Month for July. #BlueJays

Congratulations, Lourdes! Nice to have something good pop up in the back half of this lost season. It is incredibly unfortunate that said good thing is now on the DL.
The Blue Jays are having another bullpen game today, because the last two have worked out so well. Let’s all extend our thoughts and well wishes to everyone who has travelled to Seattle today, and will witness this first hand.
Is it a good thing if the Cespedes Family BBQ account talks about your team? In this case, I’m assuming not.
here were the lineups from that game between the Terrible Mariners and the Even More Terrible Nationals, who ultimately ended up with the two worst records in baseball in 2008 pic.twitter.com/rMYB4RsrYz

Here are today’s lineups. Dwight Smith Jr has been optioned and Darnell Sweeney has been DFA’d to make room for new closer Ken Giles and new pitcher Mike Hauschild(?). The Jays will carry nine relievers and have a two man bench. Grichuk bats 2nd, Solarte 5th and Teoscar stays down at 6th. Brandon Drury gets the start at shortstop (!) and Luke Maile will catch this bullpen day.
We are glad you are here, and hope you feel welcome. As a reminder, we have rules. Mostly it's "don't be terrible." If a moderator asks you to stop doing something, please stop. If you want to discuss the rules, don't do it in the thread. Email Tom instead. We also have a BBB Glossary full of GameThread lingo you can find here.
