The Jays are going for the series win against the Phillies behind Aaron Sanchez, who is making his first start off the DL. The Phillies will counter with Canadian Nick Pivetta, who is 7-10 on the season with a ERA. When he pitched against the Blue Jays earlier this year in Philly, he gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings.
In the least surprising of news, Gibbons doesn’t expect Troy Tulowitzki to make a return this season. Sad face.
Gibbons also commented on García’s DFA:
Gibby: Garcia really did a nice job (in the bullpen), I would think somebody would take a shot at him down the stretch for the work he’s done, but we’ve got some kids coming up soon so there’s not going to be a lot of work for him. #Bluejays
