Around The Nest - Blue Jays Minor League Podcast - Week 17

Hello, Buffalo!

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Andrew Guillotte
Jesse Goldberg-Strassler/Lansing Lugnuts

While many, many Canadians decided to invade Seattle and Safeco Field yesterday I decided to splinter off of the main invasion and headed down 300 kilometres south to Ron Tonkin Field to see the Vancouver Canadians play the Hillsboro Hops. The Northwest League game featured some good, athletic plays and some obvious lapses in good fundamentals but overall the ballpark experience was fantastic and I had a great time despite the Canadians’ loss.

Even though I am in Portland, the show must go on! Just like all Fridays during the season, Around The Nest will be hosted by the Voice of the Lansing Lugnuts Jesse Goldberg-Strassler and will be joined by his fellow broadcasters from up and down the Blue Jays minor league system.

You can listen to Around The Nest broadcast LIVE at 4 pm ET every Friday or click this link after the show ends to download the podcast for later listening.

Here’s today’s episode description from Jesse:

The lineups are stacked and ready for the stretch run in the Blue Jays’ Minor League system: Vladdy Jr. arrives in Triple-A (and so does Jacob Waguespack), New Hampshire mashes (when not giving up 20 runs), Dunedin builds its lead in the FSL North with a five-game winning streak, Chad Spanberger pops in to Lansing’s lineup, and Vancouver and Bluefield jockey for playoff position. Morale is high, temperatures are comfortable, and there’s one more month to go. Let’s Jay-talk!

If you have any questions about the Blue Jays’ farm system or a particular prospect put them in the comments below and we well try to answer as many as we can on the podcast. Do note that some questions, like ones pertaining to injuries, are difficult to answer as much surrounding them is considered confidential information by the ball club.
