Full confession here: I completely lost interest around the 6th inning of last night’s game against the Red Sox. I think the end result was officially a 10-5 loss but i was courteously indifferent to it all.
I was far more interested in what was happening in Buffalo as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. He got a double, single and then his first Triple-A home run: (check out the bat speed!)

With six hits in eight at-bats this home stand, Vladdy’s stats have now reached video-game proportions: .455 average, .581 on-base pct., .682 slugging pct., 1.262 OPS.
Cavan Biggio and Harold Ramirez both homered and Bo Bichette extended his hitting streak to a season-high 12 games on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t enough in a 13-6 New Fisher Cats loss at the hands of the Bowie Baysox.
Tom’s recap of last night’s game is available here. My feelings about the game are thus:
Positives:
Jaime Garcia was our best pitcher. Yep, you read that right
Justin Smoak hit his career-high 30th double of the season in the fourth inning. The hit also extended his hitting streak to 12 games. It is the longest hitting streak by any Blue Jay this season. He finished the night 3-for-4 and has hit .353 during the hitting streak.
Randal Grichuk hit his 15th homer. It was epic:
Negatives
Teoscar Hernandez couldn’t find his own arse with both hands and a map in LF. Hitting is the only thing he does well, so make him DH.
Yangervis Solarte is a shadow of himself from earlier in the season. Is he playing too much? Is he injured? Is he simply not bothered anymore? Why is he not dancing?
The Mike Hauschild experiment has failed. He gave up three hits, four earned runs and three walks in two and one-third innings of work. Where does that leave our rotation? (in a graffiti covered dumpster that is on fire i think)
Joe Biagini - please some rub a lamp and make him disappear.
Luis Santos: just why? why?! Ive renamed him the Human Torch as he has an innate ability to make things explode with fire. Like Ken Giles but with more manners.
W-ear-d of the day
WHAT. THE. HELL
Have a great Thursday everyone. Lets hope Ryan Borucki ends our 3 game losing streak today.
