It’s September 1st, so we have our expanded roster call-ups.
Jose Fernandez’s contract has been selected by the team, and he will be in line to make his major league debut.
Sean Reid-Foley and Taylor Guerreri have been called up, with Reid-Foley set to make tomorrow’s start. Guerrieri hasn’t had a great season, but he’s on the 40-man roster so the team should see what they have in him. Guerrieri will also be making his major league debutl.
With these moves, it appears as if we may be set to tie another franchise record this year:
Most Pitchers Used in a Season in #BlueJays History:

2012 - 34
2017 - 33

To make room for Fernandez, Murphy Smith has been designated for assignment.
The team also made a waiver claim today, making quick use of Granderson’s roster spot:
The Blue Jays have claimed RHP Mark Leiter Jr. on waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies.
