Since it’s a new day, we have some new Donaldson drama.
.@JonHeyman reported today that the #BlueJays made Josh Donaldson an offer for more than three years, $75M. Donaldson’s agent, Dan Lozano said in a statement the Jays never extended an offer to Donaldson, and that no years or dollars were ever specifically discussed.

Steve Phillips is backing Lozano’s claim:
The #BlueJays never made a contract extension offer to @BringerOfRain20. As I reported last January, during discussions about his arbitration settlement with the club it became clear that there was no starting point in extension talks. Age and term were the obstacles for Jays.

Jon Heyman is also reporting that the Blue Jays and Gibbons are 99.9% likely to part ways after this season. Didn’t we find this out a while ago?

Here are tonight’s lineups. Donaldson is back on the DL so he won’t be playing, but EE is batting fourth. On the Jays side, Reese McGuire is making his MLB debut at catcher, batting 8th and Rowdy Tellez will get his first MLB start at 1st base.
