Randal Grichuk left today’s game in the top of the 4th inning.
Tough one to describe. A foul popup, down the right field line. Grichuk and Justin Smoak were chasing it and the security guard got up to get out of Smoak’s way, taking his little stool with him. But he didn’t see Grichuk coming the other way and Grichuk slid right into a leg of the stool. It hit him across the bridge of his nose.
He was down a long time.
When he got up there was a large lump showed on the bridge of his nose. I’m a bit worried about his eye, they had a towel on his nose and it covered his eye, so we didn’t see if there might have been damage.
We’ll add to this when we hear more.
Update:
Grichuk is in routine concussion evaluation with medical staff and will receive follow-up imaging to his face according to the #BlueJays
