Not surprisingly, considering yesterday was Christmas, there isn’t much for Blue Jays news this morning.
Edwin Encarnacion signed with the White Sox yesterday. Hard to imagine that they would be working on Christmas but apparently they did. Edwin is getting $12 million and there is a team option for another year at $12 million. He turns 37 in January.
The White Sox are making a run for the top of the weak AL Central (man I wish we played in the AL Central). They have added Dallas Keuchel, Gio Gonzalez, Nomar Mazara, James McCann, Yasmani Grandal and re-signed Jose Abreu this winter.
They finished 28 games back of the Twins this year, so there is a lot of ground to make up, but they could put together a good batting order this year and their pitching staff was about league average last year, and should be better this year. They should be more fun to watch, at very least.
Didn’t get the t-shirt yo uwanted for Christmas, you can get it cheap this week.

I guess, if it was up to me, I’d love to see the Blue Jays add a center fielder before the start of the season. That and maybe a couple of bullpen arms and I’d be ok with their winter. I mean, another starter would be ok too, but would like to leave room for a couple of young starters. The young guys will have to develop sometime.
But a center fielder who could make the catches would help make the pitching staff look better.
